Beatles music performed on mostly acoustic instruments, Valentines day weekend
WAE productions present- The White Album Ensemble's traditional “Unplugged” Valentine’s weekend concerts- Beatles love songs, performed on acoustic instruments, such as the Kuumbwa's lovely Yamaha grand piano which has been played by Herbie Hancock, Mose Allison, and so many greats.
Selections will be included from the last 7 BEATLES albums- Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Pepper's, Magical Mystery Tour, The “White” Album, Let it Be, and Abbey Road; with an accent on beautiful melodies, acoustic guitars, piano, and rich vocal sounds. This is the period where the Beatles no longer performed “live’, as the music had so many overdubs, edits and vocal arrangements that four musicians simply couldn’t perform the songs with 60’s technology. The Kuumbwa Jazz Center, 320-2 cedar st in Santa Cruz is a world famous, intimate listening environment (200 capacity,) with wine, food from the Jazz Café, excellent sound, and "not a bad seat in the house”:These shows do usually sell out, and general admission means first come, first served. Richard Bryant (Vocals, and Percussion), Stephen Krilanovich (Guitar, Vocals) Ken Kraft (Guitar and Vocals), Larry Carr (Drums), Endre Tarczy ( Bass), Dale Ockerman (Keyboards, Guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica).
