THE BROAD STAGE- SANTA MONICA 

Cudamani is Bali’s premier music and dance troupe, known for their exceptional creativity and artistry- they love to perform for and interact with children. Led by artistic directors-husband and wife team-I Dewa Putu Berata and Emiko Saraswati Susilo, the 25 member ensemble presents a 2pm matinee concert especially designed for children and their parents. The Cudamani (pronounced Sue Da Mani) has prepared a diverse repertoire that features their young performers (youngest is age 14) inclassical pieces that are a feast for young eyes and ears.

In addition you will see new moreplayful works that will brings smiles and laughter to all ages.  Audience participation and demonstrations of the dance and magnificent instruments will make the performance accessible, entertaining and educational.  Adorned in glamorous make-up and shimmering costumes dancers join charming youthful musicians joyfully playing gongs great and small. The technic al precision and high collective energy of Cudamani is perfect for the entire family. In Bali, Cudamani teaches hundreds of children and in their temple festivals children are everpresent, therefore,Cudamani especially look forward to performing for children.

CHILDREN ARE THE MOST PRECIOUS MEMBERS OF THE BALINESE COMMUNITY.  CUDAMANI TEACHES THE CHILDREN OF THEIR VILLAGE SO THAT THEY TOO CAN PERFORM THEIR MUSIC AND DANCE AS AN OFFERING TO THE GODS.
