Asian American Music festival
With the success of our inaugural event in 2015, we are thrilled to present the 3rd Annual Asian American Music Festival . Last year, our second festival continued to build excitement from our initial event. Our festival guests were truly impressed by the accomplished performances of all our featured artists.
One of the main focus of the festival is to feature notable Asian American musicians who have succeeded in embracing jazz, an original American art form. We will also continue to showcase new and younger artists who deserve wider recognition. The festival is proud to provide opportunities to these Asian artists and showcase them with some of the more prominent artists and musicians today. This years event features Saxmen Jeff kashiwa, Michael Paulo, and Austin Gatus our scholarship recipient . Hawaii's Piano Legend Rene Paulo along with Keyboardist Kimo cornwell, Tateng Katindig, Guitarists Kayta Mizuno, Fred Schreuders, Child Prodigy Drummer Vinnie Aguas, Bassists David Inamine, Ben Sheppard, Vocalist Kemaya Sherkan, Award winning singer Terry Steele from Hiroshima, and from Hawaii Bruce Hamada and more TBA.
In keeping with our mission of assisting Asian Youth in their pursuit of American Jazz Music Culture, we will be presenting our first jazz music scholarship from the proceeds from last years event.
The festival will be held in the air conditioned confort of the state of the art JACCC Aratani Theater .
