Songs on Life’s Journey
The Williamsburg Women’s Chorus fall, 2019 concert will feature music around the theme of life as a journey. The performance will open with Andrea Ramsey’s “The Sky Is Strung with Glory,” which with poetry of Madeleine l’Engle that draws our vision outward to the universe as an inextricable symbol and source of music, and will close with the exuberant setting by Gwyneth Walker of the Quaker Hymn, “How Can I Keep from Singing?” Music within the program may make you laugh and may make you cry, as we touch on aspects the human journey from childhood to love and friendship and to loss, all united in the central idea of celebrating each day.
