Borrowing its name from the Bechdel Test, a cultural rubric used to highlight gender disparity in film and theatre, Broken Nose Theatre presents BECHDEL FEST: a short play festival of nine 10-15 minute plays featuring all female casts and touching on the season theme of “Lessons: the things we’ve learned.” Ranging from the dramatic to the farcical and everywhere in between, each play centers around women of all types and in all stages of life as they learn about their families, their friends, their surroundings, and themselves. Pieces include:
“The Ball,” by Sarah Illiatovich-Goldman, directed by Helen Young
“Bitte(r),” written and directed by Dani Bryant and Erica Barnes
A selection from “Bodies”, by Carla Stillwell, directed by Jenn Adams

“Family Matters,” by Sydney Davis, directed by Arianna Soloway
A selection from “Mecca Tales,” by Rohina Malik, directed by Cassy Sanders
“Not Parent Teacher Conference,” by Mia McCullough, directed by Michael Carnow
