Lydie Breeze follows the exploits of former Civil War soldiers who move to Nantucket Island in the hopes of forming a communal utopian society, ironically called "Aipotu" (Utopia backwards). The play joins the remaining members of that community many years after a love triangle between Joshua Hickman (the leader of Aipotu), Dan Grady (Joshua's best friend), and Lydie Breeze (Joshua's wife) leads to Dan's murder, Joshua's incarceration, and Lydie's subsequent suicide. Their utopia has come crumbling down and everyone who hasn't been washed away is left haunted and infected by the neglected horrors of their past. However, when the past begins to return to Nantucket and those horrors can no longer be overlooked, these people must find a way to heal their wounds by reclaiming their identity and finding a new beginning.
Due to the staging of this production, there will be no late seating.
