inkSlam Workshop: Surrendering to the Metaphor Aja Monet Bacquie Humanity fears the void, fears the in ability to reconcile experience through communication. Through poetry, hip hop, theatre, etc. as a vehicle of traveling, we explore creative inhibitions and the human need to create meaning of experience, the importance of vibration, of sound, and the performing body. What is metaphor and how do we use it in these mediums? How does observation and emotional observation carry a poet into a realm of something utterly other? What do words mean to us and how do we exude meaning from them? These are some questions we will raise.
