ABOUT THE SPECIAL SHOWCASE PROGRAM
Opening the Finale Celebrations of the 1st International San Joaquin Film Festival, on the campus of University of the Pacific will be the West Coast premiere of "Rain Falls from Earth," Directed by Steve McClure and narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Sam Waterston, this a documentary story about courage, survival, and eventual triumph over the Khmer Rouge regime, which took the lives of over 2 million people. This special presentation will open with the narrative short "The Golden Voice," starring Sophea Pel, directed by Greg Cahill. Sophea, Greg and Steve will all be in attendance and will engage in an interactive conversation with the audience following the screening.
